It is all about the Search Engine Optimised Content!
Your written content is one of the most important aspects of your website. Good written content is what will help your readers and customers identify with you .Good web copy writing is achieved in some of the following ways
- Well written and concise articles
- Appeals directly to your customer or reader
- Allows the reader to access as much information as possible in the least amount of time
- Brings about good business
- Great headings, slogans and catch phrases
Do you know who you are targeting?
In order for your content to be effective and search engine optimised you should have a good idea of who your readers or your clients are. In other words, what market or markets are you aiming for? If you know this, then the next step is to try and think what type of person they are, what information they would be looking for (Just as i am trying to do that now as I write this). If you are not sure that the content is relevant, leave it out – less is more
Keywords-What people want
Content contains keywords, or care words(what people care about at that moment ). These are the words that your customers and readers will identify with. These are the words that you use to search on Google/Yahoo/Bing. Optimised Keywords have the most meaning to the people you are trying to reach. If you are looking to build an e-commerce site these are the words that will entice the right type of web surfer to part with their hard earned cash.
Now is a good opportunity to point out that the average internet user will spend more time not on your site then on it - therefore it makes sense that when they do come you have to catch their attention pronto. The heading and the first sentence of the written content must catch their attention and contain these keywords. Not only this but it must also be focused towards their needs.
Imagery in Content
Using images in your content can be a very effective tool to convey your message, you would have seen this on web sites that you have visited. The old saying “ a picture is worth a thousand words” is very true. A well placed picture that is relevant and tagged (alt and title tags) will give your content a great boost in the right direction.
How People read Web content
People tend to scan for keywords, any word, picture or slogan that “jumps out at them ” and is relevant to the reader's needs, is likely to help get their trust and confidence and ultimately their business. When you are using the internet you are generally hunting for something, and so good web copywriting will be that which facilitates this and allows the reader to go through as much information as possible in the shortest time.
Is your text a work of art?
Content on your site should be a work of art - Something that you carefully put together designed to create maximum impact on the reader as well as on Search Engines - this is the ultimate goal of great web copywrting. It is a little like reading a magazine, visually pleasing and imparting useful information which is easy to read. It must designed to grab the the attention and quickly lead the reader to their goal.
In Conclusion
remember this -
Always make sure that the content that you have on your site is your single most important asset Content is king!..Content is king!.. Content is king!
